RV Moody Blue


This page is dedicated to our faithful old research vessel, the Moody Blue. She has served us well for the last 10 years, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

Ocean Ecology operated the research vessel Moody Blue. The Moody Blue was a Transport Canada approved vessel and participated in the Small Vessel Compliance Program (SVCP), a program aimed at enhancing safety in the small vessel community by emphasizing the importance of compliance and better understanding of legal requirements.

The Moody Blue's specifications were as follow:

Shown below are several pictures of the Moody Blue taken during a recent haul out. Clearly seen are the batwing stabilizers, forward scanning sonar, and rudder and wheel.
